Bo Kwon is the founder of the KOi Fusion Food Cart Empire and with “D Street” he has made the leap to having his first brick and mortar sit down restaurant!
KOi Fusion D Street is located at 3040 SE Division Street
At D Street you can get the same tacos and burritos that hey have the KOi Fusion Food Carts. However…. You can also get some amazing specialties like the Korean Cheesesteak (my favorite), the Korean Rueben, and the Kimchi Quesadilla!
When you go to D Street be adventurous! Try something new. Everything is good!
Dreams Do Come True!
In my book Portland Food Cart Stories I included a chapter on Bo detailing how he got the KOi Fusion brand started. It is awesome to see Bo be able to grow his innovative culinary startup to the point of owning his first brick and mortar restaurant. Bo has been dreaming about this day for more than 4 years. here is what he put in Facebook May 1st 2014 –
“Big day for me and my family. We are officially open (but) not finished with my SE Division location. This has been a dream of mine for 5 yrs and it’s actually coming true. It just shows if you believe in something it doesn’t matter who’s opinion or advice you take. It’s up to you and only you to make it happen. Please come kick your feet up, ask for extra sauce, or to turn the stations as I built this for us not me! Let celebrate this small victory as the beginning to the movement. Take a look inside this location and you will see a glimpse of our future. Thanks fam all ya’ll” – Bo Kwon
I am sure that sometimes you will see Bo working behind the counter at D Street. However, Bo has a growing company to run and he has hired Jacque Lawton to be the manager of D Street. Jacque has with KOi since April 14th, 2013 and she is very excited about this opportunity. When Jacque started at working at KOi Bridgeport Kiosk she was not too fond of Kimchi. Now flash forward year later, sometimes that is the only thing that you can find in her refrigerator at home. Jacque love kimchi and she makes sure that even if she runs out of everything else, she has lots of kimchi on hand!
Jacque was the person who handed picked the staff to launch D Street.
I have met her crew and they are a great bunch of people who are delighted to part of the KOi family.
Currently D Street is open 7 days a week. Sun-Thurs 11 AM – 9 PM, and Friday & Sat 11:00 AM – 10:00 AM. Given that D Street opened today – May 1st, 2014, these hours might be adjusted over time.
