The Wedge – Portland’s Cheese Festival 2015 Preview!
The Wedge is happening Saturday Oct 3rd from Noon – 5 PM! If you love cheese and great culinary delights you will want to get to this awesome event! I have been to the 2013 and the 2014 Wedge and both years were well worth my time!
The Wedge is happening Saturday Oct 3rd from Noon – 5:00 PM.
The Wedge takes place outside of the Green Dragon Bistro and Brew Pub located at 928 SE 9th Ave, Portland, OR 97214 and you can park free on the surrounding streets.
Make sure that you allow time to go into the Green Dragon and have a beer! They always have a great Tap List that includes brews from the Buckman Botanical Brewery located in the back of the Green Dragon!
Tasting tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door and they include a $5 voucher to buy your favorite cheese.
This year they are adding wine flight tickets for $10 which allows you to enjoy some wine with your cheese! Some of the wineries that you will find at The 2015 Wedge are: Apolloni Vineyards, Brooks Winery, Elk Cove Winery, Montinore Estate, and Willamette Valley Vineyards.
GO TO ONE OF THE SEMINARS! Tickets are $10 and well worth it. I have been the seminars that they put on at the Wedge and they are stellar! Great food and great info!
This year they are having seminars at 12:30, 2:00, and 3:30.

When You Go
They have a number of wonderful cheeses and other culinary treats that will be at the 2015 Wedge. Here are some my favorites! For cheese, I love Ancient Heritage Hannah and Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog!
Also make sure to stop by the Briar Rose Creamery, Cascadia Creamery, Face Rock Creamery, Ochoa’s Queseria, and Willamette Valley Cheese Company booths. They all have excellent cheese! See more photos below at the end of this article.
Other Culinary Treats!
There are so many other culinary treats that they will have at the 2015 Wedge that I love!
Go to the Bee Local Honey booth and, if they have it, get some of there Oregon Buckwheat Honey! This is my very favorite honey! while you at the Bee Local booth make sure ask about the 3/8 that is part of their branding. Spielman’s Bagels make some of the best bagel chips that you will ever have! Get a bag of their Herb and Salt Bagel Chips and thank me later.
Also make sure to stop by the following booths: Duker’s Dills and Rose’s Beans, (if you like pickled things, this is the booth for you!) Kelly’s Jelly (just buy two bottles of whichever one of their jellies that looks best to you), Olympia Provisions, (cured meat at it’s best), Shauce (really good and really hot sauce) Simple & Crisp (some of the coolest “crackers” for cheese that you will ever see) and Three Little Figs (Really awesome jams – try the Sparkling Nectarine and the Balsamic Fresh Fig). See more photos below at the end of this article.
